- On Visi.Plus, how to get back the Graphic Editor window from the secondary (other) Monitor. (FAQ #101953)
How to get back the Graphic Editor (Edit mode) window from the secondary (other) Monitor in Windows 7.
When you are using dual monitor system at your PC, it can happen that the GE window (in Edit mode) of Visi.Plus opens on the secondary monitor. When you de-connect your secondary monitor you are not anymore able to get back the GE window on the primary screen.
There is no more 'Move' command in the context menu. (right mouse click to the GE icon in the taskbar).
Solutions:
1. You attach back the secondary monitor and move back the GE window to the primary.
2. Click to the GE icon in the taskbar and press the 'ALT + SPACE' simultaneously. Than you get the possibility to move the GE window by the arrow key of the keyboard.
3. Click the icon in the taskbar to ensure that the program has focus. Then hold down the Windows key and press the right-arrow a few times. That should move the window across your screens and eventually bring it back onto the screen that is still active.
- Information about licensing in Visi.Plus (FAQ #101937)
Normal Licence, Engineering Edition licence, How to check the licence file and the dongle ID? What to do?
1. Normal licenceing in Visi.Plus 1.6.x.x (also for Vp 1.5.x.x)
- Valid license: Licence file (promos.key) + the USB dongle.
- The key file must be placed to the C:Visi.PlusYour_project/Lic folder The dongle must be plugged.
- The LICENCE file ID and the DONGLE ID must be the same.
This way the Visi.Plus is licensed for the end customer. The license can be checked here when the project is stopped.
Visi.Plus is running for 4 hours if there is Demo license without dongle. Visi.Plus is running for one hour if the dongle is unplugged and there is a valid endcustomer license.
It was (is) possible to buy a development dongle which works with every licence. So older projects VP 1.4 - where Enginnering Edition license is not possible - can be unlimitedly run with this dongle.
2. Engineering Edition licence.
- This licence is for engineering, only works together with PG5.
- PG5 2.0 or PG52.1 must be installed earlier than Visi.Plus (If Visi.Plus is installed earlier, it still could work. Visi.Plus is checking the registry of Windows.)
- The PG5 license file (User.key) must have an entry shown in the picture:
How to use:
The license file must be deleted or renamed in this folder “ C:Visi.PlusYour_projectLic folder “.
The dongle must be unplugged.
This way the Engineering Edition license is activated.
Every 24 hour or when a module of VP is started a message shown.3. If the customer has problem with the licensing.
User manual Chapter: 7.2.11.4
The following info are needed: Drivers w2k gaming driver mobile phones & portable devices.
- A screenshot about the License ID and the Dongle ID shown with red arrow.
- The Promos.key file .
- The order form which tells the details about the ordered Visi.Plus version, Modules, DP numbers.
- Send these information to MST and ask to generate a new license.
- Default installation folder of Visi.Plus has changed (FAQ #101846)
Visi.Plus default installation folder changed from PromosNT to Visi.Plus directory
There is a change in the Visi.Plus installer.
Visi.Plus now is installed by default into the Visi.Plus folder in the C: root directory.
Originally the install folder was PromosNT.
This change was introduced from Visi.Plus version 1.5.1.38 and from Visi.plus 1.6.1.3.
This behaviour can disturb customers who just want to overinstall the old version Visi.Plus because the link between the preprepared shortcuts and the files in the /bin folder are broken due to the different install folder.
Customer can change the default installation folder when he chooses the Custom installation. - Is Visi.Plus working with Windows CE ? (FAQ #101845)
Visi.Plus is not working together with Windows CE.
Windows CE is not supported by Visi.Plus at all.
There are two ways that end customer can work with Visi.Plus to monitor the process.
1. Visi.Plus is installed on the Windows CE and Graphic Editor (either locally or remotely) is used for monitoring the process.
This does not work because Windows CE is a reduced operating system.
Some Windows parts are missing which are necessary for Visi.Plus.
2. Visi.Plus is installed on a normal Windows PC and other Windows CE machines are connected over Webserver (pWeb) and Webbrowser connection to the Visi.Plus server machine.
This does not work also because the Webserver (pWeb) - Webbrowser connection requires JAVA classes to be run on both PC's and the Windows CE does not have the necessary JAVA classes. - Which ISDN modem can be used to send sms with VISI Plus? (FAQ #101815)
We tested the ISDN Modem from Stollman TA+PP2 and TA+USBA successfully!
We have tested the 2 following ISDN modems from Stollman:
- TA+PP2 (which is replaced now by TA+PPX)
- TA+USBA
The modem where tested on Windows XP 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit.
The installation package for the modem must be downloaded from the Homepage of Stollmann.
Remark:

- New Licensing of Visi.Plus (FAQ #101617)
New Licensing in case of using Visi.Plus and DDC Suite
New Engineering Edition of Visi.Plus for free with PG5 2.0
New Licensing in case of using Visi.Plus and DDC Suite
In older price lists there was a point that if you are using Visi.Plus together with DDC Suite the licensed data points of Visi.Plus are multiplied by ten. This is no longer the case. To avoid confusion about how many data points really are licensed, this factor is no longer part of the price list anymore. In the new price list, the mentioned amount of data points licensed is directly the amount which can be shared with Visi.Plus.
New Engineering Edition of Visi.Plus
When ordering a new PG5 2.0 License Key, there is a free Engineering Edition of Visi.Plus included. This means that with every new license there is automatically an Engineering Edition included, when you want to profit from this feature and you already have a PG5 2.0 license you can order a new USER.KEY file in which the license for Visi.Plus will be included.
Remark
This is not an End User License, its purpose is to be used during engineering and for promotion at a customers site. - Where from can I get the icons used in the HEAVAC S-Web Demo? (FAQ #101611)
In case you would like to use the icons from the HEAVAC S-Web Demo or from the DDC Suite template projects you can download them from the support site.
How do these icons look like?
Below you can find a screenshot from the HEAVAC S-Web Demo:
Where from can I get these symbols?
The symbols which are used for the HEAVAC S-Web Demo and the DDC Suite template projects can be downloaded from the support page, see link below.
In the archive you'll find several versions of each symbol (various sizes, and always one *.gif and one *.jpg).
Can I use these icons for my projects or are they copyright protected?
You can use these icons; they have been designed by Saia-Burgess Controls AG and are intended to be used together with the S-Web Editor or Visi.Plus.
Are the symols according to DIN or SIA?
In case the symbols are not identical, SBC tries to provide both versions; the one according to SIA and the one according to DIN.
What can I do in case I'm missing a symbol in this library?
In case you are missing a symbol in the library, please send an eMail to support@saia-pcd.com; in most cases we'll add the icon you desire. - Why is the menu 'Saia PG5®' missing in Visi.Plus PET? (FAQ #101576)
If PG5 was installed on a PC after Visi.Plus, the menu 'Saia PG5®' won't be activated!
Solution
Please uninstall Visi.Plus and re-install it (for that the installer can 'see' PG5 already at the time it is installed. - Possible reason about missing addresses in Visi.Plus after importing symbols from PG5 (FAQ #101548)
It can happen that after importing the symbols from PG5 the addresses are not shown and can not be edited.
Symptom
It can happen that after importing the symbols from PG5 the addresses are not shown and can not be edited.
Possible reason
A possible reason is that the DMS name is too long (more than 80 characters).
Solution
It is recommended to keep in mind that the lenght of the imported PG5 symbol name should not be longer than 56 character.
The symbol name consists of the device name plus symbol group name and the symbol name itself.
This can be quite long and of course Visi.Plus also attach some addendum to the imported name to create the DMS name.Recently Visi.Plus is using longer addendum so the possible lenght of the imported PG5 symbol names is reduced.
Our recommendation is not to use more 40 character in the structure of Device name + Symbol group name + Symbol name.
- What kind of modem can be used for the Visi.Plus voice (MALM) feature? (FAQ #101543)
In 2010 it was discovered that the MicroLink 56k Fun USB s modem can not be purchased from Devolo anymore. This FAQ contains information about possible replacements.
Introduction
In 2010 it was discovered that the MicroLink 56k Fun USB s modem can not be purchased from Devolo anymore.
This modem was the recommended one to use as voice modem for Visi.Plus (Mobile Alarm Manager voice). Unfortunately the provider Devolo does not offer replacement for this modem.Beside this fact there is not possible to install this modem under Windows Vista and Windows 7 (neither 32 nor 64 bit version) because there is no suitable driver availabel.
Which modem to use instead of the Devolo?
We can recommend the following modems to use as voice modem but with some restrictions.
(Further investigation is needed to find out that modems are working or not in other circumstance as they have been tested.)- Manhattan USB modem (external USB modem)
Chipset: Connexant

Note: A possible reason why this modem is not working on Vista and Win7 is that this modem has a Conexant chipset (Windows Vista and 7 were reported to have a bug to work together with this chipset correctly.) - Trendnet TFM-PCIV92A (internal PCI soft modem)
Chipset: LSI
Connection: PCI
Modem name in the Device Manager: LSI PCI-SV92PP Soft Modem

www.gmp-compliance.org - Information’s about TAPI modem settings on PG5. (FAQ #100891)
If you make a online modem connection with PG5, OPC-Server, S-Web-Connect or Visi+ to a PCD then the modem settings of the TAPI (Telephony Application Programming Interface) are used.
TAPI is a Windows standard interface and the TAPI settings are accessible under the control panel, “phone and modem options”.
There you have the possibility to adapt different modem parameters like baud rate, data protocol and so on.
The channel settings menu of PG5 allows modifying the modem parameters of TAPI settings which are used without that the TAPI settings of Windows are changed.
Please not that the channel settings menu of PG5 does store the modified TAPI settings in the registry of Windows under the key name:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARESAIA-BurgessPG5x.yChannelsS-Bus ModemTapiSettings
PG5 does not change the TAPI settings of Windows.
The registry entry mentioned above is updated after that you have open the menu point “configure line” and you have stored the configuration settings of the modem.
PG5 does apply the following rules:
- If PG5 don’t have any entry on the registry key mentioned above or if the registry key mentioned above don’t exist, then PG5 does use the default TAPI settings (defined under the control panel, “phone and modem options”) of the selected modem.
- In the other case PG5 does use the modified TAPI settings stored under the registry key mentioned above.
